I have a feeling in order to make it work, you would also have to buy the install kit

What I'm wondering is if the changer works for the BOSE head unit as well

Yeah...I bought the install kit from my local dealer cause it was cheaper...but, its not necessary. The install kit has very detailed instructions which is nice, but, other than that its just wire ties, mounting bracket & screws. I'll be installing this weekend & putting together my own instructions w/ digpix. Look out now!

My local dealer sells the kit for $45 so I orderd both from courtesy, looking forward to see your instructions as I'm not keen on scoffing up $70 for a professional install.

damn .. but I don't have a drill..
