Stero crackles in the cold mornings

When its cold outside and i start my car up the cd player crackles with alot of static but if i turn the cd player off and back on several times then it seems to come in clearly after alittle warming up! Why does it do this, could it be that i need a better battery? Any info is appreciated!

thanks
-Mike

I have a 2k3, and to accelerate the process, I eject the CD and warm it with hot air coming from the dash vents for 4-5 seconds. It's instantaneous! I tried it after reading the last post on this page

Well if it is only becase of the cold weather it is because of condensation that forms on the lens of the laser pickup. it is no big deal afewr the cd player has warmed up. if u read ur owners manual it will probably mention that
