Splicing Audio Signal?

I am going to splice the audio signal from the rear Bose speakers and want to know if you splice before the speaker wire is connected to the amp or after. I have talked to two different installers and one said before and the other after. So I need to know which is correct before the signal is amplified or after?

I am adding an amp. I will try to splice the signal and if I can't I will get the PAC adapter. It is worth a try.
