Amp rack with fans

I was thinking about doing an AMP rack with a plexi glass top.. I have 2 amps side by side..

I was going to have 2 fans on 1 side and the other 2 on the other side..

which is better....

the 2 fans on the left sucking air, and the 2 on the right blowing air ( thus having a constant draft )?

or the have all four fans blowing air into the amp rack?

I thought I read some where that #1 is not as effective due to space size and heat and the amount of air smaller fans can move...

But I can't find it anywhere and I might have been drinking that night

thanks

have them set up where 1-2 pushed air through and the other 1-2 pull air out. Otherwise they would cancel each other out facing the same way!

I think the constant draft method would be much more effective. I do not understand your reasoning why it would not be. This is how computer cooling systems, etc. work

The first method is right on to keep constant flow, but don't you have enough trunk space to circulate air without fans? To have your amps an a plexi-glass rack would elevate your amps, thus allowing air to travel above and below your amps. Unless you are planning to mount you amps vertically, along your rear seats facing the cabin, then yeah you'll definitly need those fans. I got a pic of mines mounted verticaly, along the rear seats facing the cabin, but I don't know how to post pictures in these forums. I am not using any cooling fan either.

What you wanna go with is a push pull idea...One to pull cool air in and one to push the other out of the rack. Make sure you have a place for the air to go then...Many have put true cooling systems in ...Bascally a/c for the amps.

Depends...Somtime just out of say the tire well, or side panel via a one way vent. Takes some work though. The a/c thing works just like the a/c in your car just on it's own system.
