Car does not start unless with remote starter

I have a Viper 550ESP alarm with the 555U component. The car does not start unless I start it up with the remote starter. Turning the ignition key does nothing. Is this suppose to happen? If so, how do you go around it and gain access to the starting of the car with the ignition key? BTW, this is for a Maxima 99 SE-L.

how much do you know about car alarms? are you willing to go in and verify all connections are solid and to the correct place?
if you had it professionally installed, take it back to the place.

I know absolutely nothing about the wiring of a alarm system. I had the system professionally installed. Just didnt want to bug the guy anymore than i already had if not needed. He said that it's supposed to be like that... But i just want to verify that that's really the case.

Supposed to be like that?? That has got to be the worst thing I have ever heard said. Take it back to him, and have him fix it! Dont think of it as bothering him, if he did his F***ing job right the first time he wouldnt have to fix it now. I do about 7 of these a week, and I do not have this problem...

In either event the problem lies within your orange wire "ground when armed" it is most likely receiving a groung even when not armed, thus enabling the ignition kill. Email me if the idiot that screwed up your car to begin with wont help. I will alert DEI to his lack of good customer service, and his ignorance in work. I may also be bale to help you with the problem.....

BTW where do you live?

Thanks guys. Now I try and get in contact with the guy. Hopefully he'll deal with the issue. Now I wont feel bad about bugging him

Pearl96Max: Thanks for the help. If I can't get in contact with the guy, i'll try to fix the problem if possible. But if not...

BTW, I live in Queens NY.
