this may be simple but Ive been to circuit city back in 1997 when the car was new to put in a cd deck and they said they didnt know how to take out the stock tape deck. I was wondering if anyone can tell me how to remove it so I can hook up the amp to the back of it. I still use the old tape deck cause I use minidisc with a tape adapter and I dont have the money right now to buy a minidisc deck. any help is good.

 

Do I have to take out the tape player to connect the amp and if so how do I remove it? is there another way to connect it from behind the dash? its a 97 4th gen max with non bose stock tape/radio

great site. I have the same car and just put in my own HU for the first time. Word of advice...put a towel between the dash and the pulled-out dash. There is sharp metal on the back...plus the plugs in the back are a pain in the *** to get out.
