Help: Replacing stock tape deck to aftermarket ones.

I have stock tape deck (non bose) with alpine 3-disc in dash changer.
My question is I want to replace head unit, but I want to keep alpine changer, Do I have to get alpine tape deck unit w/cd changer controller to run alpine 3-dish in dash changer? Or is there any other way to replace it with different aftermarket unit? Thanks in advance.
