Speaker Mounting Brakets

After searching it seems that everyone says you can fit 6.5" speakers in a 5th Gen in all the doors with an adapter. I got a Scosche adapter that was just a flat peice of plastic and did me no good

I decided to make my own out of 1/2" MDF. Last night I started and they are turning out real nice. In order to give the speaker more room, I am using 2 layers of 1/2" MDF - one on top of the other do get a 1" depth.

My question is: Should I glue and screw them together or just glue them? I was having so much fun doing this last night until it started to rain . Hopefully it will stop when I get home today so I can finish!

Oh, I was using my RotoZip with the hole cutter attachment to do the job. All I can say is that the RotoZip is by far the best tool on the planet. It has so many uses and will beat the crap out of a Dremmel! Get it!

glue = MUCH stronger than screws..

the screws are basically just a clamp.. holding the peices together till the glue dries..
