Help with install (running wire)
Help with install (running wire)
I've got a few questions to ask -
Anyone who has run 0 guage wire through a 4th generation max:
Where did you run it?
Where did you get it through the firewall?
Is it difficult to get the front seats out and how do I do that?
Thanks in advance
Mike

i havent run zero guage but to get thru the firewall you need to drill a hole (yes i know it makes you want to cry) i drilled on the side where the battery is . there is a lil circular shaped thing and it goes thru if you look up above your pedals you will see the exact same shape and yes it is ok to drill thru there. if you have any questions let me know and i will go take a pic of what im talking about for you

I ran through the firewall too, but dual 4g wires, very nice indeed. May as well have 2 holes I say with some sealant and grommets, works well. Same location in the wall though. Seats take 5 minutes to take out or put in, just some bolts and some clip ins for the power if you need to take them out for any reason
There's a hole in the firewall to the right of the fuel filter(left if you are looking from the front). It had a black stopper in it, and I just pulled it out. I run two 8 gauge through it, but it seemed wide enough to run 0 if I remember correctly. I tucked it into the side of the console and ran it down the hole in the carpet where the e-brake comes out(had console removed).
The chairs are easy to remove. 4 big bolts. Two in front and two in back under two covers that you can just pull off.
Are you installing amps? in trunk or under seat?

Another thing:
I bought these battery terminals right. There are two smaller holes for wires and then a big allen screw to attach a 0 guage ring terminal too. I took a look at the battery and there are 3 wires going to the positive post, with the addition of my 0 guage for power wire for my system making it 4. My question is: can I twist two of the factory wires together and put them in one slot in the battery terminal and then put the other factory wire in the other slot and then attach my ring terminal to the battery terminal and connect the terminal to the battery post? Would that be ok?
