Need Help Buying an Amp!

Here is the setup -

Two 6.5" speakers in the front (75w RMS 200w MAX)

Two 6.5" speakers in the rear (75w RMS 200w MAX)

One extra 6"x9" speaker in the rear seats (50w RMS and 175w Max)

One sub in the trunk (350w RMS 1200w max)

What type of sub do I buy? I just want ONE sub or do you think it is best to get TWO? Please, any help would be appreciated greatly. Thank you.

If I were you

I'd get two amps, one to power the front and rear speakers and one for the sub. I would dump the 6x9 in the rear, because it's not going to make a big difference and it only complicates things.

Ditto.

I think 2 nice amps would be:

JL Audio 300/4 (75 watts rms x 4)
JL Audio 500/1 (500 watts rms x 1)

As far as how many subs, it really depends on what subs they are. I personally like the way 2 - 12"s sound, but with a better more powerful sub you can probably get more SPL out of one (ie: one JL W7 vs. two JL W3s).

A big difference is in the box they are in. I prefer bandpass or ported boxes because I realy crave the slam ! Others prefer sealed boxes because they like the tightness. It's really all personal preference. The nice thing about sub boxes is that once you get your amp hooked up, you can just try them in the trunk without much ado. Just pop one in after the other to see how it sounds!

How can I dump the 6"x9" in the rear on a 4 channel amp? How can I wire it to the rear? Sorry for the idiot question, just want to get the wiring right. besides, the rear is for fill anyway. Thank bro.

Would it help if I add another 6x9 speaker in the back and wire all 4 rear speakers to the two rear channels? Let me know what you guys think.

4 rear speakers is a waist. 2 good coaxles in the rear would do just fine.
