I am trying to but a Rockford Fosgate amp....What is the difference between the Punch amp and the Power amp....I am looking at the 400a4 to push two Punch 2412 subs...I heard I need power to really run these sub best...

 

the regular punch amps just have 2 channels ant the 400a4 you are talking about has 4 channels. are you running the amp with all of your speakers to it? or is it all going to the subs? if just the subs then you dont need 4 channels.

 

full range speakers whereas Punch Power amps are for Subs..

 

If I remember correctly, the Punch amps are like normal amps, but the Powers are a little bit stronger, can go into lower impedances, and are slightly more efficient.... sort of like a higher end RF amp.

 

just remember that eventhough its a 400a4 it will have way more watts that it says. I have a 250a2 and it actually was tested to have 398 watts

 

the power amp has 2 power supply and a remote bass booster. u can get it in black or chrome. my punch 800a2 was rated at over 1000 watts.
