Mounting a sub in the trunk pass-through

Hey guys, I'm in need of your advice.

I have just bought a 96 SE, and here's what I have so far:

Polk ex602 component speakers front and rear (they only handle like 50W each, but that's enough for me).

Problem is there's no bass, and I don't want to tear these up by cranking the bass up on the head unit. I won't be amplifying these any more than my head will push them, but I will be using an amp for the sub(s).

I want to put one or two 8" subs (I like rock and classic rock, so I don't want any super bass or distortion, just enough to make my music hit hard). The polks sound so awesome if the bass is turned way down, so I need something to add that part to my music.

I want to put this (or these) in a box that can face into the pass through so that I can have the bass in there with me - I don't care much for what it sounds like outside the car, I'm buying this for ME!

If anyone has pics of speakers mounted in this area, or ideas of how to build a mount for this, I would appreciate it. I would like to have this box moveable so that I can still use the pass-through, but I'm having a hard time picturing how that can be done.

Do you mean that you reversed the speaker and had the magnet sticking through the pass-through opening, or just facing the speaker to the rear of the trunk without the pass-through open?

I meant turning the whole box 180°, pass thru still open..

Thanks. That's the same advice I just got from my Maxima's previous owner too.
