Picked my sub and amp, help with enclosure

I plan on running the Polk GNX 10'' sub with a US acoustics
300watt x 1 amp. I plan to build my own enclosure but I'm not sure if i need the small enclosure or the medium enclosure with port. I listen to trance,r&B/rap, and pop. I want something that will hit but i don't want the bass to be really slow like you hear on those SUVs. I heard my friends audiobahn high excursion 10'' in a band-pass box and that was way too much bass (teeth chattering, heart trembling)

thanks

go with a medium ported box. i, like always, strongly advise going with as close to exact specs that polk recommends for that type of enclosure. you'll get plenty of boom. besides, getting the right bandpass box that's built for your sub can be like a needle in a haystack sometimes.

If ported, be careful not to tune too high with the 300 watts you have available.
