Remote start add on?

anyone here just added a remote starter to their existing factory alarm? what brand/model did you get and how much did you pay? i dont feel like spending anymore money for a brand new high tech alarm system, but i still would like the convenience of a remote start on those cold days. anyone?

Just adding a remote start could later cause problems. Meaning the range of the remote start is only as good as the Host that it is using. Factory keyless entry remotes tend to lose range of time, thus also losing the range of your remote start. Before you know it you will have to practically be in the car to "remote" start it.

It actually isnt that much more expensive to add a newer full feature alarm and remote start to your car. Being as it doesnt really have an alarm now, this may help in your decision some.
