head unit confusion

I am trying to get my Kenwood cd player installed but no one seems to know much about installing with a Bose system. Those of you who have had aftermarket head units installed, did you use the interface kit or a regular wiring harness? I asked a couple of local places. One guy said I would have to rewire the whole system and the other wasn't sure about the interface or not.

Thanks for the help
Andrew

Re: head unit confusion

I added a Kenwood Excelon KDC-x859 to my I30t. I didn't use an interface. I purchase Metra harnesses and plugged everything up. It worked great.

The part numbers were:
80-7550 for Nissan 1995 and up
KN16-80 for Kenwood 16 Pin

I bought them at Circuit City for like $30.

Hope that helps.

Thanks,
Andrew
