I am just wondering, i want to hook up a sound system on a headunit with preamp but no build in sub control. can i get those sub level controllers?? will those work good???

You can buy a subwoofer volume controller sold seperately. They range from about $20-$40 or so. It runs in-line of your rca cable from your amp to your cd player.

I have an alpine one and it works great. I actually like it better than the sub controls on my alpine hu I had in my 929, its much quicker to use and you don't have to mess with your hu, just turn bass up or down with a twist. Mine was about $45 from a local car audio store, but i'm sure you could find one cheaper at ikesound.com or someplace like that. Make sure that your amp will work with one these first, some amps don't have this feature.
