this price ok?

does two Alpine SWR-1521D (15") subs for ~$400 shipped sound good price wise? and do they sound good?

Sounds like a really good price IF its from an Authorized dealer. But the term "shipped" leads me to believe otherwise.

Why on gods green earth would you want that much base? Good luck fitting anything in your trunk.

well what would you recommend as a teeth-shattering setup for under 350 or 400 (3 12s maybe?)

Type R's are good subs. You should check out 1 Beyond Audio 12" inhuman in a ported design. Or perhaps 2 Elemental Designs k series subs. If you want earth shattering bass, and are willing to pay a good amount for it, check out digital designs.

From what ive heard they are a decent website (when its working), but they are NOT authorized dealers of Alpine. The only Authorized dealer of Alpine online is Crustfield.
