I don't know if you ever got the answer to this, but what brand of Inverter are you using?

the 4 gauge should be fine if it's a good inverter. More juice never hurt.

What do you need 600 watts for? Are you plugging a large screen TV in with it?

hahaha... a washing machine perhaps?

Actually, my company sells power inverters (one of the top 5 in the market) and we run anywhere from 75-5000watts. you can power quite a bit with 5000watts. lol

the inverter is capable of supplying 600 watts of power, but it will only give as much power is needed

if you havent bought your inverter yet, i believe target is selling a 750 watt inverter for 62.98 (its on clearance, so your target may/may not have one)

oh and as far as powering the ps2, it should be more than enough... in fact you could probably get away with 200-300 watt inverter

the PS2 only takes 85Watts. even with a laptop (P4) a 200W will more than suffice. Beware, though, not all inverters are the same. Note that they will say 300watts, but it'll actually be 250W continuous and 300W for 30minutes. Here's a quick plug: WAGAN Tech inverters are always underrated at continuous wattage (24hrs). Check the GD if you're interested.

you'll have to find an accessory wire and a ground to wire the thing. up to 300W, most cars don't need to be hardwired. I just tapped my cigarette lighter.

what kind of inverter are you using, btw? and is it filtered?

filtering is internal to the inverter or as an optional accessory you get at radio shOck. do you sometimes get buzzing noises from the radio? if so, maybe you need to get a filter.

When you tap into the cigarette lighter, you'll need to put in an inline fuse for extra precaution. the inverter should be fused already for any overloads.
