Need advice on a sub - Please respond

I just purchased a JBL BP 300.1 amp. I am looking for a 12" sub that will work well with it. I am just adding to the Bose system and I am not looking for competition worthy. Also, I want to take advantage of the 2ohm stability of the amp. Therefore I am looking into 4ohm Dual Voice Coil Subs.

Here is a small list of ones I am looking at: (Please provide any feedback or alternates)

Kicker CompVR
RF HX2
JL W3

I am kinda leaning towards Kicker because I can find them new on Ebay for around $100 shipped. How would they compliment Bose?

Sorry for the long post!

So nobody has opinions on these sub choices or any others in the $100-$150 price range that the BP300 will push well?

Well out of those listed, I'd go W3. Why dont you go with a 12" Kicker L5? It has more cone area than a regular 12", and will sound louder with the same given power.

Don't think a W7 is in the $100-150 price range. How about a IDQ12. Def. one of the best in that range and is availible with dual 4 ohm vc.

I've had both the CompVR 12 and HX2 12.

I had the VR in a 1.25 cubic ft sealed box. It sounded good but always left me wanting more. Not a bad sub for the price. I'm going to pull it out of the closet here in a couple of days just to see what it sounds like ported.

I had the HX2 in a 3.0 cubic ft ported box tuned to 30hz. Pushing it with a RF power bd500.1(679 rms birth sheet). It would get deep and loud. The thing would shake the steering wheel when turned up but still sound good at a moderate level.

From what I have read, I think 300 watts will be fine for the Kicker CompVR. I heard that the RF HX2 is very power hungry so I worry about that. What about the IDQ 12? Will 300 watts be good for it? How much are they and where is the best place to purchase?

Here are a few others in your price range

Shiva

E12k

I would pic one of the above over the CompVR or IDQ

I second both of these choices. Perhaps a Resonant Engineering SE?

I looked on that site and found the Shiva sub. Is it only available in Dual 8 ohm? I would really like to get a dual 4 ohm to get the most out of my amp.
