Finally Did It

I finally installed something myself. I could get used to this not paying an arm and leg for everything I want to get done. I did my headunit install today and figued why not just do the 6x9's so I did. I installed a Pioneer DEH-P7200 and a set of Pioneer TS-A6960R 6x9's. I thought I wouldnt be able to do it but I really just sounds harder than it is. Thanks to Craig his site really helped. Any new members that need help let me know. I still have a component set and amp to be installed. I think I will just pay for this because Im not trying to do an amp install. But this was a good experience to see that I can do some of the work my self.

Installing an amp is alot easier than putting in a deck. Its just pluging ground, constant, and remote into the amp after you run the wires. The hardest part is running the wires.

Yeah thats what Im afraid of. I dont even know where to run the wires to I mean I know they have to go from the trunk to the front but I wouldnt even know where to start. If you possibly know of a site that has a step by step illustrated instructions I might try to do it but other than that I would be too afraid to mess something up.

Theres not much to mess up its just a pain in the a$$ to do. I dont know of any sites right off hand, Just find a hole in the firewall big enough to stick the wire through then run the wire under the carpet. then run the constant wire, RCAs' and remote wire from the front of the cabin to the trunk under the carpet. hook up the ground somewhere in the trunk and plug everything in and you are done!

I dont think I want to try. Thanks though I appreciate you trying to help. But I am confused already just reading what you just typed. I think Im going to let a professional handle this part unless your in Philly and want to make a few bucks.

You'll find that many things are easier than they sound once you try them. Though I'll admit the amp is a little more work than the HU; HU's are just plug and play. Running wires for an amp can be a PITA.
