Cheapest XM Solution
I have decided to buy XM radio and am looking for the cheapest way to get it. I want to buy the AUX adapter for my Bose so what is the best way with rebates and all to get this. Which antenna is best if I plan on putting it on my rear deck? Also, is it worth it to buy two adapters (total of around $100) to get a direct signal to my head unit instead of FM modulation?
You can get awesome deal on Sirius satellite radio these days.
Sirius is better than XM anyway.
ALL Sirius music streams are commercial free.
They use variable bitrate streaming (the streams that need more bandwidth get it, the one that need less are cut down) this leads to better overall sound quality.
Their satellite system is more advanced. They have three satellites that are set up to orbit so that at least 2 of them are directly over North America at all times. XM only has 2 satellites that are always positioned directly over the equator.
To put that in perspective, Sirius only needs half as many ground based repeaters as XM.
Check out www.sirius.com and the forums at www.clubxm.com for more info.

Yeah, a friend of mine has XM and I just assumed that was better but I read a huge thread on clubxm last night about xm vs. sirius and I am starting to lean the other way. I found if I buy the Pioneer receiver from Crutchfield it has a $100 instant rebate plus a $100 mail in rebate through XM so it would be free. The only problem is that it is on backorder. Where is the best place to get Sirius equipment?

Check out page 4 of my homepage for my setup using the Kenwood FM modulator for Sirius.

Does that deal include the display as well as the decoder? How deep is that display? I want to mount it elsewhere on my dash since I still have the stock headunit in.

The FM modulator controller is about 3/4 of an inch thick.
