BOSE CD player dead

I tried to look for this 8 pages deep in this forum but do'nt find any info on this.

Today when I was playing a CD-R, everything was find up to this point, the player just stopped working, no sound, there is power and all the lights work but the cd just stopped. I tried to press foward etc.. but nothing happened and after awhile it said "cd err" and ejected the cd. I tried to put the cd in again, the cd got in the player turn on but then nothing happen, no sound of the laser head thing moving at all and "cd err" pop up after awhile. But radio works fine.

Anything like this ever happen to anyone? If there is no way to fix this, I'll have to buy a new HU, and by searching "manually" I think I'll need the ROEM-NIS2 for a new HU right? So I guess I'll go with an MP3 one, which one would work with the ROEM-NIS2 and stock Bose speakers? Thanks
