Help with amp pleaaaaaaazzzzzzze
I have a Coustic 401DB powered two JL W6 10 inchers... All I did today was mount some plywood under the carpet in the trunk....
Anyhoo, I blew both 30 amp fuses in the amp. I checked the wiring and replaced em... As soon as I put those in, i heard a pop, spark, and a small stream of smoke...
The fuses were fine... but now the amp flashes red, which is a short/ surge, or wrongly connected wiring... My power and grounds are fine... Also, when in this mode, the amp is super hot... and the subs are fully extended out of the sub...and those get hot as well.
I'm grounded to the two hook shaped parts that hold the back seat to the metal behind it... I had this setup running fine up till today when i was messin with the plywood setup... please help

From the description of the subs it sounds like you have DC current going to them That's bad for the subs, unhook the speaker wire if they aren't already blown. Is it possible some of your speaker wire came loose and is going across both terminals? Or another wire on the amp?

If you still have the protection lights on but nothing else double check the fuses. I have heard of fuses partially blowing and still being able to pass enough current to light up the LED's but not enough to power up an amp. If they are definitely good you may want to check inside the amp for interrnal fuses. A lot of companies use fuses internally but don't tell the customers about them. The last time I didn't want to void a warranty by opening up an amp I ended up paying an Adcom tech $100 to change an internal fuse.
