headlights dimming, to cap or not to cap?

ok i got a amp that says it pushing 400watt rms to one sub, i ran the amp on 4 gauge wire and have a good ground. i upgraded my battery which put out about the same numbers as a opitma battery, new alternator about a year ago 120amp i believe (whichever is on a se). NEWAYZ my headlight dim moderatley when bass hits at peak also everything else in the interior. should i get a 1 farad cap, 60 bux easy install dont have to remove anything, will this fix my problem tho i heard from some that it helps and other say caps are nothing but paper weight and eye candy, frankly 60 bux is a lot for candy... btw im not in the mood to upgrade my 4gu cable because 4gu barely fit through firewall i mean barley.

get the cap, upgrade to battery wont stop lights from dimming. if u only have a 400 watt rms amp, then 1 farad will do the job nicely. just remember to charge it correctly before installation. get a good cap though, a cheap cap will suck and not work properly (****ty dielectrics, and horrible ESR rating). the cap will regulate voltage also, so its always a good thing. drops in voltage can cause amps to clip and destroy speakers FYI

if you don't car about looks or whatever any 1 farad cap will do what you need.. there is no need to buy one with a digital display or what have you, just get one off ebay for cheap.

i personally dont understand why anyone one put a second battery in. Not only would the altenator have to charge the main battery but wouldnt it have to charge the 2nd one also. That seems like alot of strain on our altenator. my friend installed a cap after noticing his lights were dimming, he had an amp doing 800 watts and he put in a cheap DHD 1 farad cap and it did the job.

works pretty well for me.. battery isolator between the two, no caps.. my lights always stay nice and bright and i am pushing 1000watts along with a crapload of other electrical stuff.

one redtop up front and a yellow top in back.
