Bose speakers the same front and back??

Are the speakers that come with the BOSE system the same all around? Can I put a speaker from the back into the front panel? I have an extra back speaker and a blown front right speaker...if I can just swap it out I can save $$$$. Thanks.

Bose speakers are 1 Ohms and you can't replace them with normal aftermarket speakers which are 4 Ohms. Also, often times its the amps and not the speakers that die.

I meant to say an extra Back BOSE speaker from another Max, not an aftermarket. So if I put this in the front will it work?

I think you can. I heard that the speakers are the same, the only difference is that the back ones have an extra amp attached to them. To be sure you are doing the right thing, all you got to do is check that the physical shape of the speaker is the same, and then read what the amperage is stamped on the speaker. If they match, you shouldn't have a problem.

I think you would be able to. They are the same size all around. The bose system sucks for you are trying to up grade sound. I bought a $680 clarion head unit. I did not know it would work with bose speakers. I was given only one option:

-Buy new speakers and re wire them.

I found a part called an interface coverter. It makes it where you can use aftermarket head units with the bose speakers. It saved me an a$$load of money. And i am talking jennifer lopez a$$.

I 2nd that comment. It took me awhile to realize that the Bose cd players suck donkeyballs, I went through 2 of them before I changed it out to a Kenwood MP3/CD player. The thing that kept me from going aftermarket was all the rumors that it wouldn't work with the factory Bose speakers, well I proved that theory wrong and I'm truly happy going aftermarket. So yea, stop wasting your money on those factory Bose cd players that have short cd player life span.

Hey guys, I just want to replace one blown speaker. I actually already removed the blown one and before I go spending $1000+ for a whole new system (which I will do eventually) because of one speaker I want to get back to having sound coming out from all four corners without having to spend money if I didn't have to. I know the aftermarket stuff is better than the stock BOSE but my money is focused on keeping the car running properly, looking good, and than sounds. It really makes no sense upgrading to a beautiful sounding system if you car looks and runs like sh*t. That's something that them Honda and Toyota boys do .

Did you need to do anything special to hook up your Kenwood to your BOSE speakers??

Nope, there was a blue wire coming from the Kenwood to power on the Bose amps.

The bose speakers are 1 ohm all around, so the front and rear cones are electrically compatable. As long as you can physically fit it in the front door, a rear speaker will work up there. The only issue you might have is if the screw locations are different you will have to make new ones, but I doubt that will be a problem.

I told you they were the same when you were going to buy that speaker from me, (I guess you don't need it anymore).
