FM Reception

Hey,

Just wondering. I just got a new '03 SE and my FM reception is a bit fuzzy sometimes. I admit I'm not in the most metropolitan area, but the reception is a lot worse than my old car, a mitsubishi.

Are Maxima's known to have lower reception quality? Or is something wrong with my car. Also, just wondering, where is the antenna built into?

thanks

The reception shouldn't be bad at all. Nissan uses Diversified Antennas. Basically speaking, it's 2 seperate antennas that are fed into the HU via a single connector. The HU then chooses the better of the 2 signals and uses it. I'd check to see if maybe one of the antennas is damaged.

The 1st-2nd gens used a mast antenna, but I'm not sure if they had a windshield antenna or not.
The 3rd-4th gens used a mast antenna and a windshield antenna.
The 5th gens used 2 seperate windshield-mounted antennas, both on the rear window.
