I was going to do a removable face or maybe that phantom face by alpine (goes in, really looks removed). is that really any deterrent at all?
Has tint or 2nd alarm helped? I know they are a good idea (new alarm is a given), just wondering if it helped at all.

I think a lot of thieves assume you keep the faceplate in the car. The phantom ones are convenient, but any thief that stops at Best Buy to shop can remember what the phantom decks look like; even the Alpine (lack of faceplate connector, CD slot only). I think the best deterent is the Eclipse decks, where losing battery power disables it altogether; but even those, you are counting on the thief knowing that it does that.
