The charging bulb that came with my 1 farad Capacitor was broken in transit. I got the job of charging done by connecting directly to the power source but sparks flew. I do not want to damage the cap in the future so what resistor value can I use to charge/discharge the cap? I assume a 5W wirewound resistor would suffice.
