5 channel AMP or 1 4 channel and 1 for sub?

What would you prefer? I am trying to find a good 5 channel amp. The idea is to power 2 components and 2 speakers in the back, and 1 12 inch sub. Or should i just get 2 different amp's for that?

It's a power issue. If you want or need medium to high power forget about the 5 channel. The biggest commonly available 5 channels are probably the Arc and MTX. BUt like was said above, if yo uever plan to go with a bigger, better, or louder system it's better to get the seperate amps. And don't try to fool yourself. The most noticable difference between two systems is the volume of sound. Most people will immediately associate louder as better.

The Memphis Belle (MC1300D) is one of the bigger 5 channel amps. It would be plenty for just about any speakers in the setup you have mentioned. However, the two seperate amps do give you a little more flexibility.

Odd, I replied yesterday but it's not here. I guess the server swap or wahtever lost some posts.

Unfortunately the power levels Memphis claims are very unrealistic. The amp boasts as much power as two of their other amps. And it's considerably smaller than the other two combined. It's also no larger than most large 4 channel amps and smaller than some. I'd get the MTX or ARC first.

Get a 4 channed amp for the mids/highs and a class d mono amp for the subs. The class D amps are more efficient.

Id go for a 2 channel for the fronts and a class D for the rear. Just run the rears off the deck, its rear fill as it is, so you dont need to spend the extra cash on the 4 channel amp.
