alarm opinions

hey all,

since i'm starting to spend too much money on making my car unstock, i would like to upgrade to a good two-way alarm.. just wondering if anyone has opinions on which is better between the viper 790vx and the 554t.. I know a couple of you have these out there, so if you have any positives / negatives I would appreciate it.. thanks

Simply put...Viper longer range, faster response time. The Hornet..More fun stuff to play with and cheaper.

I have the 554t and the range has been disappointed. Other than that it's a great alarm. Tons of features more than the 790vx. The remote is kinda cool but it's not well built. The cover keeps coming off on the remote, it's no big deal because I just snapped it back in.

I have the compustar alarm and starter. 1.25 miles range. That is better than anything else.

To answer your original question, I am going with the Viper 790, because of the "responder" technology.
The Hornet 554T is nicer and has more useless (my opinion) options.
One drawback is the 790 comes with one remote and there is no regular replacement but another of the same remote which is around $100.
