Fitting Power Wire on Optima batteries....

what's up boys and girls. having an issue. got myself a dual post optima battery on my 2002. my problem is with the power wire. it's too short to reach the post and when i try to reach it, the point at which it curves (it's a completely plastic housing) hits the edge of the battery. as much as i've tried, it just won't reach. i'm tempted to take everything apart, but that would mean i'd have to pull that fuse out and just wire it straight off a regular terminal. i was wondering, if i ripped off all or most of that plastic, is it possible to bend that section enough where i can reach a terminal.

has anyone successfully put an optima on a 2k2 or for any other year (if they have the same problem as well) and if so, what did you do. thanx guys.
