How do you make 6.5 fit in the door of a 3rd gen?

How do you guys make 6.5 fit in the front door in a 3rd gen? Maybe im a dumbass but i took off the door and in 3rd gen maximas it looks to me its a 4 inch in there....i unscrewed it and took it out...then used a dremel to cut the plastic out to fit a 6.5 components mb quart in there. its so tight in there the way i did it i can hear a little vibration off somethin and its ****ing me the f*ck off so bad. Plus i still havent figured out where im going to put the tweeter. I think i shoulda just returned the 6.5 and got somethin smaller but too late now lol. What do you guys have in your front doors of your 3rd gen maximas?

On my 94 GXE with the non-Bose system the factory pods hold 4x6's.As I'm a handy woodworker,I duplicated the plastic pod, making a new one using plywood.I used 3/16" for the backing, then built up the baffle rings using 3 layers of 3/4".Glued it all up,then cut it diagonally to match the factory angle.Took some time, but the end result was nice.I also bolted the new pod with six bolts, instead of using the factory screws, for a solid installation.

As far as the tweeter mountings,I flush mounted them on the front/top edge of the doors, where it curves in towards the dash.

With the doors sealed up good and "Fatmatted" to the hilt, the Adire Koda 6.1's sound simply amazing.Nice high soundstage, with great midbass that blends well with the JL Audio IB4 subs in the rear.

Took several pics, but no way to put them in cyberspace.Sorry.

yeah whether its bose stereo or not they all use 4*6 in pods. what you ahve to do is undo the pod and cut some mdf the size of the area and cut behind it so itll fit. i fixed that link and here is another pic of what i did http://www.geocities.com/azmalu/deadening.html i need to do some deadening work though
