6x9's in a 3rd Gen. w/no Bose???? (HELP!)

I have a 1990 and I bought Kenwood 6x9 rear speakers, only to be told that those would only fit in with the Bose system (which I don't have). I hear there's a way to fit the 6x9's into the 6.5" slot by suspending them with bolts or something like that. Please advise.

either cut the hole bigger or set them in there as good as you can and shoot a long screw through the mounting whole into the rear deck sheet metel

Go to junkyard

Buy rear deck from Bose-equipped 3rd gen. Replace?

Might be easier than cutting holes out of the rear deck...

i thought the rear decks were the same??? i think if u bought 6x9's the holes would line up right, give it a try.. first take out your old speakers but takeing off the seat, then take off the 3rd brake light, then pop off the rear deck.....
