I was wondering if it would be ok to run an aftermarket amp to the speakers through the stock wiring. It would be 80 watts to each speaker, or would the stock wiring limit the usuable power from the amp? I am just looking for an easier way that to run wire to each speaker. Also what gauge us stock wiring anyway? 18? 20?

I think it is 18ga. I'm using the stock wires to run to my speakers. I'm running about 75x2 into my components with that wire....no problems.

Thanks for the quick response... I'm glad it's ok to do it. One other question that might make me sound like and idiot. When you connect your deck to the speakers, did you use high level inputs or low level inputs with RCA's? I have the option to do either and I want which one sounds the best. Thanks.

I used RCAs. using the high level inputs, there is a circuit in the amp that takes the signal and reduces it to a low level. You should get cleaner signal on RCAs.
