Sub Amp Choices

Here's what I am looking for. Mono amp that is stable to 1 Ohm, can fit under the passenger seat, has a remote bass level control, and doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

Considering a Crossfire vr1000d, but there are no dealers within 90 miles of me. Anyone have any other suggestions?

If you don't want to spend the money get a MTX or an Audiobahn amp. Probably the best bang for the buck

I second the MTX, good bang for the buck. JBL woud be great, but no remote bass control

EDIT: I take that back, the MTX is only 2 ohm stable.

Yeah, I like MTX too. Too bad they are only 2 Ohm stable. Here are the following brands that I have come across so far that seem to meet my requirements.

Crossfire
HiFonics
Planet Audio
Audiobahn
Memphis

I am leaning toward the HiFonics cause of the W/$ ratio, but not sure of their quality. I know they used to be pretty good, about 15 years ago, but not sure anymore. Anyone have any experience with their newer stuff.

I heard that the newer Hifonics amps are not as nice as the older Zues line, (kinda like the path RF has been gonig down) it all depends on which amps you were looking at.

The Kicker's a good amp but it is too long to fit where I want. Does the Diamond Audio come with a remote bass control?

Yes all three that I listed have the remote bass control and are 1Ohm stable as per your request.

Bang for the Buck, well how about an Avionixx amp paired off with a Elemental Desingns A. Series 12" or two. You'll find its just as powerful as a JL 12w7 each for like 40% the cost? Just get two and two amp and BOOM!

JL500/1 will do it...NO PROBLEM...Fits under the seat, bass control, subsonic filter, and about 650 RMS at any load between 1 and 4, no matter what your vehicle voltage is.

Correction...1.5-4 Ohm load.

I already have 500W RMS on it. The move up to 650 is practically insignificant, and the 1000/1 is too big.

Thanks for the input guys but I blew my amp money on splash guards and tint. I will probably be in the market again this fall.

You can get an Avionixx 800.2 amp whicj will put out a good 800 watts rms for like $285+ shipping! Thats a pretty damn good price. If you want to go overkill get a tsunami 1100.1 its on sale for like $260+ shipping. Both are high end amps for a damn good price.
