98 MAxima Bose Radio Wire color code???

Hey, ok so looks like I cooked my factory Bose radio. Took apart the dash and tested the wires, constant was fine, ignition was fine, even got he power anteno to go up. Radio just won't come on. I checked the fuses all are good. Anyways so my options I think are to replace the stock bose withanother bose or go aftermarket. Anybody know the color code for the stock harness? Is ground the black one or does it go to the car chasis. Any tips on good source for car audio? Thanks, damn Bose.

YA my bad read that thread after posting. Now I just have to figure out what deck to get, and I guess trim or what not to fill up the double din. Since I won't be getting a double din deck. Thanks

what doesn't work for Bose? The color codes are right, but no you can't just hook up an aftermarket radio. If you look further into the FAQ thread, there is an adapter you can buy to make the Bose system work with a aftermarket HU.

Well when I was hooking up my aftermarket HU I tried to use the color codes but they didn't match up with the ones in the car.

Oh, ok. I see what you're sayign now. YA they are different colors for sure, I got the code though. My wires are fine, and power comes to teh radio my Bose HU must be dead, I was able to power and older deck via the cables. Time to replace the HU I guess
