Capacitors
Ive been looking arround there are so many different brands and kinds of caps. (Ex: Farags.. .5..1) I know I want to go with 1 right? But are all the brands the same? I heard richard (one of the creators) owns fosgate so should i go with them? help!

Caps do the same thing. Basically two conductive plates with an insulator in the middle. This is what stores charges for quick burst of voltages. Basically you pick one and buy it. The larget the cap (farads) the longer it takes to charge. But we are only talking about seconds. Don't get the brand name to fool you.

I read somewhere recently (can't recall where) that big capacitor at the amp have never been proven by any car audio manufacturers to improve the sound of the amp. I'm an electrical engineer and if you're using something like a 22ga. power wire to your amp then a cap will show some improvement but using 10ga or thicker wire right from the battery is good enough. Besides, a 1F capacitor is expensive (over $100, right) and stores a lot of energy so should be treated very carefully. Personally spending that extra $100 on better speakers or better electronics makes more sense.

be real careful when u go and install that thing, if u mess up u'll most likely harm urself or even die from it. and make sure you follow the discharging processes correctly when u un-install it. i'm running the phoenix gold powercore which does it all automatically, and it's also 15 farads =D
