Bose stereo system
I just bought a 2000 Nissan Maxima SE 5spd, and I'd like to know what everyone's done with the sound system--I got the Bose sound system.
Right now I want to put an Alpine deck (CDA-9813, MP3/CD headunit with 4V preouts for front, rear & subwoofer) in there.
I got the Alpine deck, a 4-ch amp (Pioneer GM-X364 -- 35W/70Wx4), a 2-ch amp (Pioneer GM-X262 -- 100W/200Wx1 bridged), 2 6.5" 3-way Pioneer speakers (50W/200W nom/max), 2 4" 2-way Pioneer speakers (20W/100W nom/max) and a single 10" Pioneer subwoofer (120W/400W nom/max) in an enclosure. This equipment is all from my old car (a '90 Mazda 626).
Is the Bose equipment worth keeping? Should I keep the Bose speakers but install my own amp; can the Bose amp take 4V preouts?
If there's some posts or links I should check out right away for all this info I'd appreciate them!
TIA for all your help

Wow, well from what I've read so far the whole system'll have to be jacked. In that case I'll be removing door panels and running new speaker, power & RCA wiring all around (probably putting the amps in the trunk along with the sub)... anyone have tips/suggestions for working with the door panels? This car does have side-airbags FYI...

there is a tool you can get to safely remove the door panels, it is very cheap and if you know any professional car audio ppl they have one. i would use the tool, i would also purchase a hanes manual for reference . it helped me out alot when removing the rear speakers, dash, ect...
also, if you like the bose system then keep it. its decent.
no,ur not going to use the preamp outputs as a source for the bose factory amps. unless you rig it.
