yea, i saw that piece and started drooling. Looks like he sold it for less than $500 too. Were u the one that one it? For the price, its worth the LCD/TV Tuner/CD Player alone. You could buy a seperate DVD player and you're good to go. That's what I was thinking of doing myself. Or you could just by this...http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=14946 and that'd be money.

Methods for changing region codes vary from model to model, brand to brand. There are several web sites that publish hacks for some DVDs, for example:
http://www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdhacks.php

Neither the sites nor I have tested the hacks. I, personally do not recommend their use because, even if they are found to be legal some day, they are getting into a level of tinkering that can't be undone in some cases. Also, many DVD's will automatically reset to the original region code when power is removed, resulting in a less than convenient consumer device. Finally, changing the code is no guarantee that you can play a region 1 DVD, since one of choices available on some DVDs is simply "all regions" instead of individual regions.

In other words, are apparently saved dollars worth the hassel of changing the code over the life of the device?
