Sub comparison

Hey guys, im sorta new to car audio so i figured i'd ask you for help. I just bought a hifonics brutus bx500d amp. Its rated at 500w rms at 1ohm and i think 350 rms at 2 ohms. Its also a monoblock amp. Im in the market for a sub or two subs if need be. I was thinking of getting a a dual voice coil sub at 4 ohms a coil, this way i'd bridge it and run 350w at 2 ohms. Would this be the smart thing to do? I know there arent many subs out there that are dual voice coil and 2ohms a coil, which would alllow me to run at 1ohm and 500rms. The other option was to run 2 dual voice coil subs to bring the ohms down to 1, would this be worth it? what would the overall best combo i could get be?

I you could provide a price range it would be easier.
I personally have Eclipse Titaniums, but they are very pricy, now the other subs that I do like is the Alpine Type R they are about $150. for a 12" and they sound great.

I would look for a single sub that can handle 350W, perhaps a 12" may siuit your needs (you can always turn it down if need be). Also, taking into consideration the make of your amp, I would really suggest running it at 2 ohms and not 1 ohm. No offence, but it's just not a high quality amp, it has longevity issues. I would personally go with a dual 4 ohm sub!

Get an Elemental Designs K. The 12" can handle 350rms and it only costs $120. It will definatly sound better than the Type-R.
