Front speakers (size-related question)
I see after some searching that the 2k Maximas w/ Bose use 6.75" front speaker holes. I got a pair of Pioneer 6.5" 3-ways I intend to put in the front. These have holes around the speaker for mounting in 6.5" holes, but it also has an outer ring with a few open-ended screw holes (possibly for 6.75" holes?). If I can't get it mounted in those holes, where might I find an adapter? Someone mentioned cutting the stock Bose speaker's adapter...
Although to add more to the discussion, I found diagrams on removing the door panels/speakers on 5th gen Maximas at carstereohelp.com -- specifically http://carstereohelp.com/stereoremovalNisMax3FSpk.htm
This seems to show a white plastic adapter with 3 mounting holes, going to 4 mounting holes for the speaker. Is that how ours look?
I'll be removing my door panels to get an actual look at my stock setup within the next week or 2, but I'd like to collect any info people have before I start.
Is it a pain to install wire through the grommet in the door? Do I have to remove some more dashboard panels to get to the interior side of the door wire grommet?

I made my own mounting ring out of 3/4" plywood for my 97. i think www.sounddomain.com -or- www.crutchfield.com has them if you'd rather buy them.
