Clarion DXZ715 problem.

I have a clarion DXZ715. Problem is it doesn't play most of my CDs. I have to keep putting the CDs back into the player at least 20x till it finally reads it. It usually works once I start the car, but after that nothing works. What I usually do is turn off my car and then start it back up and that usually works.

Anyone else had this problem? If so, how did you fix it?

I was thinking maybe a CD Lens cleaner will solve my problem. I don't understand why it works when I turn the car off and then start it up again. That's weird.

I had the same problem with my DXZ615. Appearently, this is a common problem with clarion decks. What is happening is that it plays off of 12v, but not 14v. That is why it will work when you first start your car and that's it. Also, it should play fine when the car is on but not running. If you can find a way to regulate the voltage feeding your HU to 12v, you should be all set. Unforchunately, I can't help you there. I decided to change out my HU instead.

I'm going to go to radioshack and get this device that will make it 14v. Is there any negatives to making the power 14v? Thanks!

it runs at 14v now. When the car is running, you have 14v. What you need is to regulate it to 12v.
