Adding amp to factory installed stereo

I am a newbie to this stuff. I want to add an amp and sub to my 97 GXE which has the factory installed stereo (cd/cass/amfm)and not a BOSE, does it have the ports/jack to hook up an amp? if not, how can I do it? I also don't know how to open/pull out the stereo from the dash, don't see any screws/clips....

No, OEM heas unit doesn't come with RCA jacks.
You'll need a High/Low converter.

Re: Adding amp to factory installed stereo

Is High/Low Convertor same as Line Out convertor, if not, what is the difference and is one better than the other. Also, where can I find the schematics to remove the head unit to plug in the convertor..

you need a Line Level Converter

Its easy to hook up, just tap into the rear speaker wires, run them to the converter, then hook it up to the amp.
