Remote For Amp.....

I have installed an amp. and sub to my bose stereo using this converter I got, now I need some suggestions on the remote switch to turn on the amp. I used a switch with it's own seperate fuse, but the fuse keeps blowing. Anyone have any ideas what I can tap into for the remote so that it will go on only when my car is started????

Usually, when a fuse blows, the amperage in the wiring is higher than the fuse rating of the fuse, or that there is a short somewhere along the path of the wiring. You may have to install a higher rated fuse so that the fuse will not blow. But, just my 2 cents, why do you need to remotely turn on the amp with an inline fuse? The remote wire carries a small amount of current that only sends power to turn on the equipment. The power wire is where all the higher amperage is.

I used the power (12v +) wire from a rear Bose amp. It is only on when the car is on and has worked for the last 6 months w/o a problem. The FAQs have a wire color code for the 4th gen. If that fails, post again or search in the test forum...

Thanks for your response, I replaced my rear speakers w/ Rockfords. Does that mean my amp is gone??? I really don't know anything about stereo systems. My cousin hooked it up for me. I just want the damn thing to work so I can listen to my music!!
