custom hu/changer install help plz

i have a blaupunkt hu and 5 disc changer that used to be in my 3rd gen dash. now i want to put it in my 4th get but doesnt fit in the spot for the stock hu. what should i do. i was thinking about taking some piece of black plastic (matte finish if i could find, and cutting holes to fit the hu and changer. where could i find some type of plastic to use and how do i rig this up so everything is sturdy. hope my post was clear enough.

thanks
matt

The only part that tapers off is the outside of the trim, not the inside where the original HU was.
