I upgraded my sound system and have few questions.


Here is the question.I have 1 capacitor 1 farat and 2000 wat system so 1 cap is not good i am going to buy an additional capacitor 1 farat wher should i install it.??
I have 2 amps installed on the same positive wire and capacitor too.
If i buy a new one can i install it in front of the 1st amp??

Remember the system is in line and ends with the cap. What should i do?

second question. What AMpereage fuse should i use for my fuse box thank you..

 

Why does your system END with a cap? I thought it was supposed to be right between the battery and amp?

i would recommend putting it in between the battery and the amp. but closer to the amp. You can either run the two capacitors side by side and have separate wire going to each amp or one capacitor per amp.

 

between the battery and each amp. get a distribution block from the main power wire and put a cap on from each point there. Or, the best thing to do it get your alt rewound, upgrade the wires on it and get a better battery and then you won't need caps.

 

First of all it should be *between* the battery and amps like everyone else said. Second what amps are you using? Question is to try to find their true potential, you may not actually be pushing even close to what they say, therefore not needing much more. Also what cap do you have now? Best bet would be to either get Buss bars to connect the pair of caps Or better even get a new cap at least 1.5 but preferably 3 farad.
