My 2000 Maxima with the upgraded stereo C and C package, for the most part suits me fine. I would however like to enhance the bass somewhat. The local car stero shops is suggesting the following:

1.Orion cs 150.2 amp 300 watts

2. xtr 10 subwoofer (orion)
the system would tap into the rear door speakers.
"no RCA's"

or

1.Kenwood KAC 628 100 watts

2 kenwood kfc 10" subwoofer maximum 500 watts
same idea, tie into the rear speakers

would this work out OK??? not looking for exotics..just a little extra bass...thanks

I would use the RCA'a

I think thats the best way to go I've worked as an installer and the only time weve done that is when the stereo had no rca's and the customer wouldnt spring for another stereo. You probably wont run into problems but i think a seperate line would be best, But I'm not familiar with your particular system.

i did that

Yeah it will work. Line out converter is not as clean as preout but it will add some bottom end. IMHO Orien before Kenwood. isn't the optimal way to go but is worth the$$.

Sounds like a fair plan. Using the speaker leads to feed the amp is the best route on a budget for clean sound.

I recommend the Orion setup over the Kenwood.
