On another post someone was looking for info on reducing trunk vibration and a member mentioned he could either use those insulation products or improve his bass frequency. When I was in my process of looking for my audio mods I made a stop at a local audio place (Circuit City) The salesperson place a sealed 10" box in my trunk for a demo, and there was alot of trunk rattle. Not too sure what set-up (amp, speakers, etc) he used, but when I finally finish my set-up I have no trunk rattle what so ever. I'm using RF amp and RF 10" in a sealed box. What could be the difference between his and my set-up that causes no rattle. How's this frequency have a play in the situation?

I'm not sure if this will answer your question, but I'll put my input in. . . Many factors will effect if the trunk rattles. . . Anything from speaker placement to frequency, to the build quality of the car. If you listen to the sub outside a car that rattles, you will find that it will only rattle at certain frequencies, unless it is just a ton of bass and trhen it will rattle everything. Obviously, if the trunk rattles at a certain frequncy that won't cut out most of the lows, you can adjust the crossover to cut that range out. I'm not sure if this would be the reason for your rattles not being there, but I know that adjusting the frequency on mine doesn't help the rattling of the spoiler. . .

what??

well Mike, you heard my system at the meet..and you know how bad my trunk rattles...my system hits way to hard...i need some Dynamat and the spray to help reduce the rattle...but once you have soo much power in your trunk..there is little that can be done...right Adidasboy?? hehe

I know people that have as much power as you Andrew and have about 300 pounds of Dynamat in their trunk. . . While that probably cost about as much as the stuff in the trunk, there is no rattling, or as little as possible. . . Now you have seen how much I have in my trunk (along with almost the entire lining filled with polyfil) and the only thing I can't get rid of is the stupid rattling in the spoiler. . . I think I would have to yank it completely to get rid of it, or at least get a new one, but 200W with a 12 shouldn't cause the rattling it does in my opinion.

My trunk doesn't rattle at all, unless I crank up the bass, I've got two 12s in the back.
