amp questoin

hey just wondering about the stock amp on a 96 max with bose speakers. i talked to the radio guy at circuit city and he said connect the wires to the high level output before the amp. 1 where is teh amp on a 96 max. is it rigth by the brake pedal or where is it. and 2. what do u guys think about that, does it make that much difference to do it before teh amp or should i just splice into the wires back by the back to speakers.

thanks alot

the amps for the bose are attached to the speakers. you have 4 amps, 2 on the door speakers and 2 on rear speakers. that plastic thing under the speaker is the amp. if you are installing line level converter then just splice in before the amp on the bose rear speaker.

Actually you can just tap into the speaker leads from the radio, they are low level and it would be fine. High level convertors are used After an amp hence the term High level.
