CDA-9813 Help

Hi all
I got this HU but i don't know do i need a 10 gause wiring kit or not. I know i don't used an Amp, but i'm a little confused why in the Crutchfield say requried a 10 gause wiring kit. Well anyone can help please. Thanks

I have the same unit, and have it wired it directly to the battery (yellow power line). They say this is necessary because it is a "high power" unit. I asked the question as well and the answers were split, some saying it was necissary and others saying not necessary. I figured that if it was recommended by crutchfiels ans Alpine I would do it. its a good product. I have it pushing Infinity refrence speakers and they sound great! Good luck.
